The city government has informed the Delhi High Court that helmets can not be made compulsory for women driving a two wheeler or riding pillion. It urged the court to dismiss a petition on making the helmets a must for both the genders. Filing an affidavit to the court in reply to the plea, the government said it had earlier exempted the woman from wearing helmet in response to a plea for the same.The bench directed the petitioner to go through the affidavit and file his rejoinder by April 25.
