Hegde expresses regret over leak of report on illegal mining

Expressing regret over the leak of final report on illegal mining in the media today, Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde today said the full report will be submitted to the Government tomorrow. Speaking to the media persons in Bangalore this morning, Justice Hegde owned responsibility for the leak but asserted that his office is not responsible for it. He expressed suspicion about his phone being tapped for last few days and said the media selectively revealed the names of some persons and excluded some others.The Government had asked Lokayukta to probe all the cases of illegal mining since 2000 in the state. He had submitted the interim report in 2008 and the final report has to be submitted now.Meanwhile, the Congress State President, G Parameshwara has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa in view of the Lokayukta report allegedly mentioning him as one of the beneficiaries of the illegal mining in Karnataka.
