Hectic political parleys on to form next govt in Nepal

In Nepal, Unified CPN (Maoist), the largest party in the parliament today formed a three-member committee to hold discussions with other political parties to form a Maoist led national consensus government. The committee led by the Party President Prachanda included Vice Presidents Mohan Baidya Kiran and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai as its members. The decision to hold discussions with other parties to form a coalition government under Maoist leadership was taken at the standing committee meeting of the party held in Kathmandu today.Talking to newsmen, Party Vice President Dr. Bhattarai said, being the largest party in the parliament, it is natural for his party to stake claims to form a national consensus government but said; it is too early to say who would lead party in the government. AIR Kathmandu Correspondent reports that Maoists who have been clamouring for the resignation of the Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal lost no time to initiate its move to form the government soon after the Prime Minister tendered his resignation.
