Hectic political parlays continue in Patna as 17 year old BJP-JDU alliance appears to be on verge of collapse

The 17 years old alliance between BJP and JD(U) is on the verge of separation while both the parties are trying to wade off the blame for the breakup .

Hectic parleys are on at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s residence regarding the future of the alliance. National President of the JD-U Sharad Yadav will also participate in tomorrow’s all important meeting.

Senior state BJP leaders also met today at Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi’s residence and held discussion on the issue.

Earlier in the day Bihar NDA convenor Nand Kishore Yadav and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi refused to meet Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Mr. Yadav said in Patna that they were called by Mr. Nitish Kumar, but this morning they read in a newspaper that he has raised the issue of BJP candidate for Prime Minister Ship in 2014 elections. He said national leaders can only speak on this issue and they are not authorised to discuss it.

The possible split between BJP and JD-U seems inevitable as both the parties are making contradictory statements in last couple of days.

Today’s political activities in capital Patna make the picture further clear as Bihar NDA convenor Nand Kishore Yadav and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi refused to meet Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Mr.Yadav said in Patna that they were called by Mr. Nitish Kumar, but this morning they read in a newspaper that he has raised the issue of BJP candidate for prime ministership in 2014 elections.

He said national leaders can only speak on this issue and they are not authorised to discuss it. On the other hand, state BJP President Mangal Pandey said that they are making all efforts to save the alliance but on the contrary JD-U is trying to gain supports of independent candidates which is not healthy for the BJP-JD U alliance. He said that BJP is now waiting for the final statements from the Nitish Kumar and Sharad Yadav in this respect.
