Hectic parleys on in Nepal to select consensus Prime Ministerial candidate

In Nepal, hectic parleys are continuing among various political parties and within parties today with only hours left for the deadline to select the consensus candidate for Prime minister's post. The UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Puspha Kamal Dahal- Prachanda held separate meetings with UPN-UML Chairman, and caretaker Prime Minister JhalaNath Khanal and Congress President Sushil Koirala. The Samyukta Lok Madhesi Morcha an alliance of five parties is also meeting to decide on their course of ation.All the parties have said that there is no alternative to a national government , but the Nepali Congress and the UCPN ( Maoist) the two main contenders have yet to agree on which party should lead the government. Nepali Congress has nominated Sher Bahadur Deuba and Maoist chosen Baburam Bhattarai to lead the national government.
