Hectic consultations in BJP headquarters on Karnataka Governor's recommendations

Hectic consultations are on in the BJP headquarters in New Delhi over Karnataka Governor's recommendations for imposition of President's rule in the State. The brain storming session is being chaired by Party President Nitin Gadkari. Consultations are also on with the NDA partners on the issue.Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa arrived in New Delhi on Monday night along with the BJP MLAs, MPs and MLCs. Mr. Yeddyurappa is to meet President Pratibha Devisingh Patil this evening and parade MLAs before her claiming his majority in the State. Talking to reporters on his arrival, Mr. Yeddyurappa alleged that the Karnataka Governor has been trying to destabilise his government right from the beginning. The National Democratic Alliance has demanded recall of Karnataka Governor H.R. Bhardwaj for recommending President's rule in the state. NDA, led by senior BJP leader L.K.Advani met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi on Monday and demanded rejection of any such recommendation alleging it as an unconstitutional act of the governor. Mr. Advani said that the Prime Minister had assured him that no unconstitutional step would be taken with regard to Karnataka developments.The Karnataka Governor has sent his recommendations to the President after the Supreme Court quashed the disqualification of 11 BJP and five independent legislators by the Speaker of the Karnataka Assembly in October last.
