Heavy to very heavy rain lashed several parts of the country including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi today. <br />''<br />''Cyclone Vayu has weakened and crossed Gujarat's Kutch district this morning, causing rainfall at some places in the state. <br />'' <br />'' A MeT official said, rain is likely to continue till tomorrow in Kutch, Saurashtra and north Gujarat regions because of its impact. Remnant of the Cyclonic Storm now lies as a low pressure area over Kutch and adjoining areas over southwest Rajasthan.<br />'' <br />'' Pre-monsoon rains lashed parts of Rajasthan in the past 24 hours due to the effect of Cyclone Vayu. However, the weatherman said that monsoon is expected to reach the desert state in the first week of July. The maximum temperature remained between 31-40 degrees Celsius in most of the cities in Rajasthan.  <br />'' <br />'' Light pre-monsoon rains also lashed western and central parts of Madhya Pradesh in the last 24 hours, bringing relief to people from the sultry heat. Light showers occurred in Indore, Gwalior and Bhopal divisions and some other places. A MeT official said today, the monsoon is likely to reach the state by next week. Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi also received pre-monsoon showers.  <br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, the Met Department today revised its forecast for Maharashtra for the next five days, predicting low intensity showers over entire state till Sunday. It forecast widespread rainfall tomorrow in Konkan region and Goa, while Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada will get showers in isolated parts due to local climatic conditions. The South West monsoon has not yet arrived in Maharashtra. <br />''  <br />
