In Sikkim, heavy snowfall was recorded in the upper reaches of the State last evening. The mountains adjacent to the capital Gangtok recorded, though mild but the first ever, snowfall of the season. AIR Gangtok correspondent reports that the change in weather also resulted in thunderstorm and incessant rains. The area in and around the capital recorded a 13.5 milimetres of rainfall in ten hours, extending upto midnight. However, the people of the capital and surrounding areas are enjoying a bright sunshine since Monday morning.
