Heavy snowfall in J& K posing hardships

In Jammu and Kashmir people are facing lots of problem due to heavy snowfall in the higher reaches and rainfall in the plains for the last three days. The Jammu Srinagar national Highway is closed for traffic from the last two days due to snowfall at Banihal Tunnel. In the Ladakh region Kargil district has experienced heavy snowfall as above 3 feet snowfall is recorded in Drass and Rangdum due to which the outer area like Sankoo Valley, Drass Valley and Batalik Sector of Kargil is cut off from the Headquarter. The J&K Disaster Management cell has issued warning to the people to avoid traveling or walking through the places of Avalanche and according to weather forecast this snowfall will continue for some more days. People are also happy as this snow became the source of water for irrigation in the summer.
