In Jammu and Kashmir, more than one thousand passengers are trapped in Kargil and about four hundred in Srinagar due to untimely closure of Srinagar-Leh highway following heavy snowfall at Zojila Pass. Local people of Kargil have requested the Cheif Minister to make arrangements for airlifting of the stranded passengers. Srinagar-Leh highway was closed for traffic last week and Army had rescued over 300 people from heavy snow falling near the Gumari-Zojila belt.
