Record levels of heavy snow continue to pound central Japan. It has paralyzed transportation in some parts of the region. Transport officials said 1,500 cars are stuck on a stretch of road in Fukui Prefecture.<br/><br/>The heavy snow has caused injuries, traffic accidents, power failures, and train and flight cancellations. Many schools are closed. Weather officials said more snowfall is expected in the region until tomorrow.
