Heavy rush continues at Sabarimala for Makaravilaku festival

In Kerala, hardly two weeks left for Makaravilaku festival in Sabarimala, large number of pilgrims are thronging the holy shrine of Lord Ayyappa.Devotees have to wait upto to eight hours in queue for darshan. Since vehicular traffic affected by Mullaperiyar dam issue between Tamil Nadu and Kerala is getting restored and streamlined large number of devotees are reaching Sabarimala from Tamil Nadu.The virtual queue system through online registration introduced this year facilitates hassle-free darshan for 16000 devotes per day. However, it has been noticed that travel agents are peddling with the system.Elaborate security system including personnel from Rapid Action Force is in place to ensue smooth and safe movement of devotes.Makaravilakku festival is on the fifteenth of this month.
