Heavy rains lashed parts of Haryana and Punjab since Monday night leading to a sharp fall in mercury. Chandigarh was also hit by heavy rains since Monday evening flooding low-lying areas. Office-goers were the worst hit as heavy showers continued this morning. While the maximum in Chandigarh yesterday had dropped to 30 degrees Celsius, the minimum today came down to 19.4 deg C. The minimum temperatures in Punjab and Haryana also dropped considerably today and settled in the range of 17 degrees Celsius to 21 degrees Celsius.
