In Tamil Nadu, North east monsoon has been very active throughout the coastal districts for the past four days.<br/><br/>The Met Department has predicted isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over coastal Tamilnadu and Puducherry during the next 24 hours.<br/><br/>Educational institutions in coastal districts remained closed on Wednesday and fishermen stayed away from the sea for the fourth consecutive day as the sea remained rough.<br/><br/>Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Cuddalore and Tiruvallur districts recorded 10 to 15 cms of rainfall in the past 24 hours.<br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports, Chennai recorded 8 cms rainfall in the past 24 hours. It did not rain on Wednesday in the city but generally it was a gloomy sky.<br/><br/>However Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, and Kanchipuram district administrations declared holiday for schools on Thursday.
