In Tamil Nadu, Heavy rain continue to lash most parts of the state with the northeast monsoon remaining active. The met office in Chennai has forecast more rain in the coastal districts and interior parts of the state during the next 24 hours. The continuous down pour in the delta districts has damaged standing paddy crops. Report say Paddy crops on 28,000 hectares in Thanjavur district and on 67,664 hectares in Tiruvarur district are inundated.Meanwhile, the death toll due to the rain in the last two months has gone up to 110. With more rain forecast, schools in 13 districts including Chennai, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, Karur Ariyalur, Villupuram, Salem. Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur will remain shut today.
