Heavy rains lash Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh

Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh are experiencing rain since last night. It has brought down the temperature but people got relief from dry weather. Farmers in many areas are happy because crops require rain at this time of the year.AIR correspondent reports, border belts of Punjab which share boundary with Hinachal Pradesh in the districts of Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Hoshiarpur witnessed snowfall on Saturday. This is for the first time that dozens of Punjab villages falling in lower Shivalik hills of Talwara, Dhar and Sujanpur areas experienced snow.Rain has been reported from all the districts of the state with which chill has increased. In the lower Shivalik hills farmers are disappointed as unusual snowfall has damaged the crops where as farmers in other areas are happy as this rain is considered beneficial for wheat and other Rabbi crops. Sky is still overcast and met office has predicted more rains in the coming two days.
