Heavy rains lash Capital

Heavy rains lashed several parts of the national capital Delhi and near by areas today throwing normal life totally out of gear. The city has received over 91 millimeters of rainfall since early morning and heavy showers are continuing in many areas. AIR Correspondent reports that Delhiites were stuck in knee high water and many reported late for work because of long traffic jams. Monsoon rain is at its prime in the national capital as it continues to experience spells of heavy rainfall which have bought the mercury significantly below normal. However, office goers and school children had a harrowing time this morning with water logging and long traffic jams crippling vehicular movement. A girl was killed in the Narela region after a wall collapsed following heavy rain in the city. There have also been incidents of uprooting of trees. Rain and thundershowers are likely to continue for the next couple of days.
