Heavy rains kill four persons in Nellore and Vizayanagaram districts

In Andhra Pradesh, 4 persons died in Nellore and Vizayanagaram districts due to heavy rains under the cyclonic impact while two were missing in Krishna district. Stating that all the 9 coastal districts have been put on alert, the Disaster Management Commissioner Dr T Radha told All India Radio that nearly 800 villages affecting 11 lakh people have been identified to evacuate people from low-lying areas in coastal districts. The commissioner has said over 30,145 people have been evacuated to nearly 200 relief camps set up in these districts so far. 80 speedboats have been deployed in Krishna, Guntur, Praksam, and East and West Godavari, Visakhapatnam districts to carry over the rescue operations. The food packets and water sachets are being distributed to the people in the relief camps. <br/> Meanwhile, the state government has sought assistance from Army to deploy 100 personnel and Disaster Management Authority to deploy 4 more teams, two each to East and West Godavari districts. Meanwhile, 300 kms R&B roads and crops in hundreds of acres of agriculture lands have been damaged in these districts. <br/> Meanwhile, the South Central Railways has cancelled or partially cancelled 43 Express and passenger trains which will run through the coastal districts due to cyclone. <br/> Meanwhile, Chief Minister K Rosaiah is reviewing the situation at high level meeting in Hyderabad.<br/>
