Shutters of major dams in the region are raised as the water levels rose.<br />''<br />'' Control rooms are opened. High alert is issued in hilly and landslide-prone regions. Orange alert is declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Idukki districts today. Meanwhile, water level in Idukki and Mullaperiyar dams are also rising. State Water Resources Minister Roshi Augustine said that shutters of  Idukki Dam will not be opened today.</span><br />
