Heavy rains continue to lash Kerala; landslides reported in many hilly regions of state

As heavy rain continues to lash across  Kerala, landslides are being reported in many hilly regions of the State.<br />''<br />''A massive landslide occurred in Rajamala in Idukki district in the early hours today. Local authorities informed that 5 people lost their lives and  many are feared to be trapped under soil. Rescue operations are in full swing in the region.A team of the National Disaster Response Force  has  also reached the area.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, there are also reports of  landslides in forest regions of   Sabarimala in Pathanamthitta district and  also in Wayanad district.As heavy rain continues widespread damage is being reported from northern and Central Kerala. A warning has been issued in Malappuram district today.<br />''<br />''At many places road transport and  electricity service is being interrupted. Relief camps and control rooms started functioning in all districts.As water level in major rivers are rising, shutters of dams are being opened.<br />
