Heavy rains continued to lash the national capital on Monday. The rains brought with it the usual problems of water logging and traffic snarls at several places across the city including ITO, Ashram Chowk, Mathura Road, Badarpur, Nizamuddin, Green Park and Laxmi Nagar. The Met office said the city received 18 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hrs and the minimum temperature was recorded at 24.4 degrees Celsius. It has predicted more rains in the next couple of days. Meanwhile, the incessant rains have caused the water level of river Yamuna to reach close to the danger mark of 204.83 metres. An official of flood control department said the water level may rise further as Haryana had released 47,000 cusecs of water last evening which may reach the city on Monday.
