<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Heavy rains continued to batter many parts of Maharashtra for the fourth consecutive day today. The Indian Meteorological Department has a forecast of heavy to very heavy rains in Mumbai and many parts of Konkan and Central Maharashtra during the next few days. As a precautionary measure, several teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been also deployed in heavy rainfall areas for carrying out relief operations, if required. Five teams of NDRF are stationed in Mumbai, whereas one team each has been deployed in Nagpur, Raigad's Mahad, Ratnagiri's Chiplun, Kalyan-Dombiwali and Thane municipal area. Low lying areas were inundated and roads blocked throwing normal life out of gear. Meanwhile, a small portion of a wall collapsed between Masjid and Sandhurst Road stations in south Mumbai on the down or the north-bound track of the Harbour Line, affecting train operations on the route for some time. Suburban services were delayed by a few minutes, due to heavy rainfall in Mumbai and neighbouring Thane district. However, the Western Railway train services were running normal.  </span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;"><br />''</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">According to Colaba observatory the south Mumbai city received an average110.6mm rainfall in the last 24 hours.While, the Santacruz obersevatory recorded an average of 125mm rainfall in suburban areas during the same period. IMD-Mumbai's Jayant Sarkar informed that a Red alert has been issued for Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg till July 9, while Palghar, Pune, Kolhapur and Satara are also on red alert till July 8. Mumbai and Thane are on orange alert till July 10.</span></p>
