Parts of the Middle East have been swamped by unusual flash floods after unseasonal torrential rain swept from Egypt to Jordan. Reports say at least seven people have died in flash floods and heavy rains in Egypt.The situation in Palestinian area of Gaza has also been affected. Egypt’s west coast of the Sinai Peninsula saw the heaviest flooding. Flooding blocked main roads in the resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh. While heavy rains brought down the ceiling of buildings in some parts of the airport, five Egyptian ports were also closed due to the unpredictable weather. Egypt’s neighbour Israel temporarily closed its border crossings with Egypt and Jordan due to the heavy rains.
