In Haryana, heavy rainfall in Yamunanagar district and surrounding hilly areas have flooded the Yamuna, Saraswati and Som rivers. The Som river is flowing 25 feet above normal and three bridges have been washed away delinking Rampurgainda village from the main road. The bridge connecting Adi Badri temple to Badrinath has also been washed away. Water has entered the residential areas and acres of crops have been submerged in water. The Yamuna river water level at Hathnikund Barrage was registered at 93 thousand cusecs yesterday and excess water have been released from the barrage. The threat of flood is looming large in the villages situated near Yamuna river. The Deputy Commissioner Yamunanagar Mr Ashok Sangwan, who visited the affected areas said that the situation has worsened due to heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh. He said that administration is keeping vigil on the situation and breaches would be filled up soon. He said that the farmers, who suffered crop damages would be given compensation after the Girdawri was completed. He also said all possible help has been extended to the village.
