In Uttar Pradesh, several rivers including, Ganga, Yamuna, Ramganga, Gomati and Ghaghra continue to swell due to heavy rain and release of water from barrages. AIR correspondent reports that heavy rain has lashed several parts of the state during past 24 hours.According to the report, the river Ghaghra is flowing 15 centimetres above the danger mark in Ambedkar Nagar. More than a dozen villages in the district have been evacuated. Saryu river in Ayodhya is also flowing above the danger mark but it has started receding. The river Ganga is on rise between Phaphamau and Ballia. The met office has predicted more rain in the catchments of these rivers as the south-western monsoon is active in the state.
