Heavy rain threw normal life out of gear in Konkan region today causing flood-like situation in major cities of Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. In Raigad, Mahad remained surrounded by flood water of river Savitri disrupting normal life in the town. Khed bazaar peth remained closed while road transport was suspended at Dapoli-Khed as rains caused havoc here. Flood water disturbed normal life in Chiplun as well. In Sangameshwar bazaar area and Makkhjan, Dingani and Fungus villages were under flood water. Flood water had entered many houses in Rajapur. Nivsar railway station was depressed due to rainfall. Konkan railway was affected because of down pouring. As a result thousands of people were stuck on the railway stations such as Kankavli and Adivre. In Mumbai, water was lodged in some parts below the sea level. However, railway was not much affected. So far 183.5 mile meter rain fall has been recorded in Colaba where as it is 107.6 mile meter in Santacruz. According to Colaba met department intermittent rain would occur in some parts of the city where as some parts will experience heavy to heavy rain fall with strong and gusty winds. The temperature will be maximum 27 degree Celsius and minimum 24 degree Celsius.
