<span style="color: #222222;">The Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu continues to get pounded by very heavy rain. In the last twenty four hours, a whopping 39 centimeter rain has been recorded at Avalanche, followed by Upper Bhavani, 31 centimeter, both situated in the district. The Western Ghats and its adjoining regions in the state are receiving torrential rain for the past few days as the South West Monsoon is very active.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, over 40,600 cusecs of water from Kabini Reservoir in Karnataka has been released in the River Cauvery, as the catchment areas are witnessing copious inflow. The water is expected to reach the Stanley Reservoir at Mettur in Tamil Nadu in a few days. It has cheered the farmers in the Cauvery Delta region in the state.</span><br />
