Very heavy rain lashed several parts of Telangana since yesterday under the influence of a low pressure area in the northwest Bay of Bengal. Very heavy rainfall at few places inundated low-lying areas and snapped communication to few villages. Incessant rains in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Ares for the past two days resulted in inundation of roads and disrupted vehicular traffic.<br />'' <br />''As per the IMD officials, the southwest monsoon has been active across the state and rain occurred at many places. In Telangana, heavy rain lashed several parts of the state throwing normal life out of gear. Especially Khammam, Adilabad and Karimnagar received heavy rainfall under the influence of the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal which crossed the east-coast yesterday. All the streams in the north Telangana districts are in full spate and about a dozen villages were cut off from the rest as floodwater engulfed them.

Meanwhile, passengers of a Road Transport Corporation bus have escaped unhurt near Mancherial when a bolster fell on the road just before the bus reached the spot on the National Highway no-44. Fire department personnel saved a group of three engineers who were stuck in the floodwaters at Jalimudi irrigation project site. Meanwhile, Met officials have forecast heavy rainfall at several places especially in North Telangana districts during the next 24 hours.
