Monsoon on Tuesday revived in parts of northern India with torrential rains bringing the national capital to halt. High humidity level made life difficult for people in Punjab and Haryana.Heavy rain lashed several parts of the national capital on Tuesday afternoon bringing respite from the sweltering heat. According to the Met department, the city recorded 45 millimeters of rainfall, which lasted for nearly two hours. Although the rains brought down the mercury, water logging on major roads led to long traffic jams.Sultry weather prevailed at Hisar in Haryana, where the maximum settled at 36.5 deg Centigrade followed by Ambala 34.9 degrees. In Punjab, Amritsar recorded 35 degrees and Patiala 34.6 degrees. Chandigarh recorded a high of 34.2 degrees.
