Heavy rain lashed several parts of Punjab and Haryana, since on Wednesday night. Life has been thrown out of gear in Chandigarh and surrounding areas. Power supply has been disrupted at many places as fast winds uprooted trees. The skies remain cloudy and the met department has forecast more rain. Agriculture experts feel the unseasonal heavy rain may damage standing crops.
