Heavy rain lashed Delhi continuously for past four days posing a threat to rise in the water levels of river Yamuna. Met office says the capital is likely to have more rains today. The Met office told AIR that Delhi has recorded over 44 MM of rainfall this morning, which is over 19 MM more than the previous day. Meanwhile, adequate arrangements have been made to evacuate people in the low-lying areas of Yamuna, which is now flowing at a level of 205 metres. This level is 22 CM above the danger level of 204.83 meters. Official sources said several people have been shifted to safer areas. Weather office says that the next 24 hours are likely to see a generally cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershower, which may be heavy. Our Correspondent reports that the rains have been causing severe traffic problems in the city due to water logging at several places.
