Heavy rain lashes national capital this morning

Heavy rains lashed the national capital this morning throwing traffic out of gear in several areas and causing water-logging in some places. The sudden deluge has brought down thetemperature, giving much-needed respite to denizens who have been enduring humid and sweltry conditions for the last few days. The city received intermittent rainfall measuring 8.8 mm over the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am this morning. The minimum temperature was recorded at 25 degree Celsius, while the maximum was recorded at 31 degree Celsius. The rains threw traffic out of gear in several areas, including ITO, Laxmi Nagar and R K Puram. Water-logging was reported from several parts of the city. The South-West Monsoon had arrived in the capital three days ahead of its normal onset.
