Heavy rain lashed Mumbai and its suburbs on Tuesday night and continued this morning. BMC Disaster Control Room officials said while 30.2 mm of rain was recorded at Colaba, it rained 40.7 mm in Santa Cruz till this morning. No incidents of water logging reported in the city. The advance of the monsoon has resulted in increased rainfall activity in terms of distribution and intensity in most parts of the state, especially in the south-central Maharashtra belt including Konkan.Meanwhile, met department has forecast heavy rainfall in some areas of the city and suburbs during next 24 hours and in some parts of Thane and Raigad district in next 48 hours. Maximum and Minimum temperatures in Mumbai would be around 30 and 25 degree Celsius respectively.
