Heavy rain lashes Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Mumbai

In Gujarat, heavy rain of upto 680 milimetres have been recorded in some pockets of the coastal areas of Saurashtra region yesterday. Kodinar in Junagarh district is the worst affected by the rain. Quoting district administration sources, our Bhuj correspondent reports that people living in low-laying areas have been warned of the water logging and has been asked to remain alert. Meanwhile, Met Department has predicted heavy to very heavy downpour in the coastal areas of Kutch and Saurashtra region. In Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, incessant rain caused flash flood in some areas of Hardwar bordering Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, more than 10 centimeter rain occurred during last week.In Mumbai city, the rain fall has increased in last 24 hours. However, besides Nalasopara and Virar no major water logging was reported in other parts of the city and suburb.Normalcy is slowly returning back in the city. The life line of Mumbai, the central and western was running well. The Met department in Mumbai has informed that in colaba 19.8 mm of rainfall was recorded. While in Santacruz 72.1 mm of rainfall was recorded in last 24 hours. According to Colaba met department intermittent rain would occur in city and suburbs. Some parts of the city may face heavy to heavy rain fall and strong gusty winds. The temperature will be maximum 28 degree Celsius and minimum 25 degree Celsius.
