Brazilian officials say, heavy rain in the southern part of the country have killed at least eight people. Authorities say downpours sparked landslides that killed at least six people, including three children in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. At least one man was electrocuted when the rainstorm brought down power lines. In January, torrential rains caused flooding and landslides that killed more than 800 people in Rio de Janeiro state.
