Coastal districts of Tamil Nadu have been experiencing heavy rains for the past two days due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. The Met Department has predicted heavy rain in coastal districts for next 24 hours. Local holiday was declared for educational institutions in Chennai, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Tiruvallur, Villupuram. The Southern districts like Ramanathapuram,Tuticorin and Kanyakumari also reeled under intermittent spells of rain.The Minister for local administration Mr.K.P.Munusamy held a review meeting with district authorities in Chennai to assess the situation and to meet any eventualities.
