Heavy rain hits normal life in Odisha

Most parts of South and North Orissa are experiencing heavy rains and thundershowers due to the low pressure area formed over North West Bay and adjoining West Central Bay off Orissa and North Andhra Pradesh coast. Some places in the state are also likely to get very heavy rain falls due to this in the next 48 hours. According to the Bhubaneswar Meterological office, strong and gusty surface wind from South-Westerly direction with speed reaching 45 to 50 kmph may prevail along and off Orissa coast. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea as it's condition will remain rough. Meanwhile, most parts of capital city Bhubaneswar have been water logged due the incessant rain since Monday morning. Normal life has been paralysed due to traffic jam as rain water is flowing over the main roads in Bhubaneswar.
