The flood situation remains grim in certain eastern and western districts due to heavy rainfall and additional release of water from different barrages. At least four people have lost their lives in rain related incidents in the state during past 24 hours. The rescue and relief work is going on in full swing. AIR correspondent reports, the rivers Ghaghra and Ganga are still in spate in eastern UP while Ganga, Ramganga and Sharda rivers are creating havoc in western districts. A population of around 2 Lakhs in 200 villages has become affected during past two days. Relief work is going on in affected districts. Schools and public buildings have been converted into relief camps where food and essential items are being supplied. The south west monsoon is active in west UP where heavy rain is predicted in some places. In Uttrakhand, incessant rain continues to lash most part of the state triggering landslide at several places.
