Heavy rain disrupts US open

In US Open Tennis, none of the scheduled matches could be played on Tuesday as heavy and continuous rain disrupted the fourth and final Grand Slam tournament of the season in New York. All the matches will be played today along with Wednesday's scheduled fixtures.The Indo-Russian pair of Leander Paes and Elena Vesnina will today lock horns with the American duo of Jack Sock and Melanie Oudin in the semi-finals of the mixed doubles event.In the Men's Doubles competition, the fourth seeded Indian duo of Leander Paes-Mahesh Bhupathi and the Indo-Pak combine of Rohan Bopanna-Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, will also play their respective quarter-final matches on Wednesday.While Paes and Bhupathi will clash with the Polish pair of Marcin Matkowski and Mariusz Fyrstenberg, the fifth seeded Indo-Pak duo will take on the Britons, Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins.
