Heavy rain continue to lash several parts of countryHeavy rain continue to lash several parts of country including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttrakhand, Punjab and Karnataka.In Delhi, heavy rains lashed National Capital Region and near by areas continuously for past four days posing a threat to rise in the water levels of river Yamuna. Met office says the capaital is likely to have more rains today. The Met office told AIR that Delhi has recorded over 44 MM of rainfall this morning, which is over 19 MM more than the previous day. Meanwhile, adequate arrangements have been made to evacuate people in the low-lying areas of Yamuna, which is now flowing at a level of 205 metres. This level is 22 CM above the danger level of 204.83 meters. Official sources said several people have been shifted to safer areas. Weather office says that the next 24 hours are likely to see a generally cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershower, which may be heavy. In Uttrakhand, two more people were killed in a rain-related incident during last 24 hours. CHAAR-DHAM YATRA ROUTE and some other highways including MAINI LINK ROAD have been disrupted at various places in HARIDWAR, GANGA RIVER is flowing abut the danger mark. MET Department has predicted that light to moderate rain may occur at various places where as heavy rain may occur at few places in coming 24 hours. South West Monsoon vigorous over interior Karnataka wide spread rains is also reported from many district of the state since last 24 hours. The MET Department has forecast rain or thundershower over south interior Karnataka, coastal and north-interior Karnataka in the next 24 hours. In Punjab, Fifty Six Thousand Qucec water has been released today from BHAKRA DAM reservoir in SATLUJ river. It is about Twenty Thousand Qucec extra then the normal daily release. Extra water was also released yesterday. Today, flood gates has been opened 4 feet while these were opened 2 feet yesterday. With this, 2 feet rise has been recorded in SATLUJ river. Meanwhile, water level in BHAKRA DAM reservoir has crossed 1671 feet due to higher inflow of water in the reservoir from upper reachers. In Uttar Pradesh, the level of several major rivers Ganga, Ramganga, Ghaghra, Yamuna and Rapti continue to rise at many places due to heavy rain and additional release of water from Barrages. The water of river Ghaghra has entered in more villages in Bahraich. In Tamil Nadu, heavy rains lashed coastal and interior districts of the state affecting normal life.
