Heavy rain continue to lash North India and parts of southern India. Several parts of the National Capital experienced heavy downpour last night and early this morning. The river Yamuna is flowing above the danger level. Some families living in low-lying areas in East Delhi have been evacuated. Our correspondent has the details. In Uttar Pradesh, the level of several major rivers Ganga, Ramganga, Ghaghra, Yamuna and Rapti continue to rise at many places due to heavy rain and additional release of water from Barrages. More from our correspondent. Heavy rain continues to lash the Uttarakhand. State capital Dehradun has received one of the highest shower of this season. Our correspondent reports that some highways and many link roads have been damaged due to landslides and heavy rain at various places. Many areas of Punjab and Haryana received moderate rain yesterday. All rivers and rivulets are getting heavy inflow of water due to heavy rain in the upper reaches. Monsoon remained active in Himachal Pradesh with heavy rain continuing to lash Kangra, Sirmaur, Shimla and Solan districts.In the southern state of Karnataka, one person was washed away in flash floods triggered off following release of water from Narihall reservoir. In Tamil Nadu, heavy rains lashed coastal and interior districts of the state affecting normal life.
