Heavy rain has given rise to a flood-like situation with most of the rivers overflowing in many parts of Madhya Pradesh. Rivers like Narmada, Betwa and Tawa are in spate. The rains severely affected the telephone lines and communication between Vidisha and Ashoknagar, and Bhopal and Sagar remained cut-off as official sources said.Police said a man was killed and five others sustained injuries when a wall of their house collapsed in the Old City area of Bhopal last evening. Water gushed inside many houses in the low-lying areasof the city. A fear of drought hovered over the state a fortnight back, which has now changed into a flood-like situation owing to heavy rainfall. According to Met department, there will be no respite from the heavy downpour in the next two days.
