In Manipur, heavy to very heavy polling was reported in today’s state panchayat elections. According to preliminary reports from the State Election Commission, over 70 per cent votes have been polled today. With this, the electoral fortunes of 4620 candidates have been sealed to elect 60 Zila Parishad Members, 161 Gram Panchayat Pradhans and 1514 Gram Panchayat Ward Members.Barring few incidences, polling remained by and large peaceful.Counting of votes will be held on the 17th of this month
