In Punjab, heavy flow of water is there in rivers Beas and Satluj as extra water is being released from Pong Dam and Bhakhra Dam as heavy inflow of water is there in these dams due to continuous rain in the catchments areas of river Beas and Satluj. Some areas of Kapurthala ,Ferozepur and Fazlika districts are still under water. Now maximum affected areas are of border villages of Fazilka district where a bridge connecting border villages with Fazlika has submerged under water. The only road connecting 11 border villages with the Fazilka city has also been submerged in the overflowing Sutlej. Army has taken control of the bridge to regulate the evacuation process and to prevent any untoward incident. The 7 border observation posts of the BSF have also been surrounded by flood water.
