Heavy fighting is reported in Ivory Coast around the State Television building in the main city Abidjan, as the battle for control of the country appears to be reaching a climax. Forces loyal to the internationally recognised President Alassane Quattara have moved to the heart of Abidjan and UN peace keepers have taken over the airport. Western diplomats say it is only a matter of time now for President Gbagbo fleeing the country or being captured. The Quattara Government has given assurances that the outgoing President would not be harmed. They say, instead, he would be made available to Inetrnational Criminal Court. A spokesman for Mr. Gbagbo has said, his forces would fight on against Mr. Quattara.
