In Pakistan, at least 21 suspected militants have been killed in heavy clashes near the Afghan border. Pakistan military said that five of its soldiers were also killed in the fighting in the tribal district of Orakzai. The army said the fighting occurred during an operation by security forces to re-capture a check point seized by militants on Thursday. It came a day after military aircraft bombed areas in the district killing at least 11 people.
