Heavy barricading in Thai capital

Police in the Thai capital Bangkok have begun barricading a major intersection in the city's central shopping district in preparation for a protest by thousands of Red Shirt demonstrators. The protest marks six months since a bloody crackdown on demonstrators that killed 90 people. Foreign embassies have warned their citizens to stay away from the protest zone, with Police and organisers estimating between 10,000 and 15,000 people will defy an emergency decree still in force that bans gatherings of more than 500 people. The organisers of today's rally say it will be peaceful and that they will disperse after three hours.
