After a brief lull, mercury rose again in North India with heat wave sweeping several parts of the region. In Punjab and Haryana, hot weather conditions continued to prevail with maximum temperature hovering around 40 degree Celsius at most of places in the region on Sunday. Rajasthan also continued to reel under heat wave with Dholpur recording a maximum of 44 deg C.
Delhiites experienced a hot and humid day with the maximum temperature rose to above normal. The maximum temperature was recorded 41.8 degrees, three degree above normal while the minimum settled at 29.5 degree celsius which is two degree above normal. Heat wave conditions prevailed in coastal Andhra Pradesh and also some parts of Gangtok, West Bengal and of north coastal Tamil Nadu.
