Heat wave further intensifies in Northern, Western parts of the country

Heat wave has further intensified in northern and western part of the country. Hisar in Haryana sizzled at 48 degree Celsius to record the hottest day in over a decade.<br/><br/>Chandigarh had no relief from heat with the maximum settling at 42 degree Celcius, up by four degrees.<br/><br/>Searing heat swept Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala which sizzled above 44 deg C. <br/>Blistering heat wave continued unabated in Rajasthan where day temperature stayed above 44.9 degrees at most of the places with Sriganganagar being the hottest at 48.9 degree Celsius followed by Churu which sizzled at 48.4 degrees.<br/><br/>Una in the Shivalik foothills sizzled at 44 degree Celsius as temperatures rose sharply across Himachal Pradesh with Mandi and Sundernagar crossing the 40 degree mark and Shimla recording its highest so far at 30.2 degree Celcius.<br/><br/>Easterly winds brought some respite from scorching heat to people in Uttar Pradesh as mercury dropped by two to three degrees at a number of places.<br/>
