Heat wave continues to grip North India

North India is in the grip of severe heat wave as maximum temperatures soared at most places of the region. National capital Delhi recorded a maximum of 43.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal and a minimum of 30.4 degrees celsius.

In Uttar Pradesh, people got no respite from the scorching sun as eastern parts of the state continued to reel under intense heat with Allahabad recording a maximum temperature of 45.8 degrees Celsius. Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail over parts of eastern UP during the next 48 hours.

Heat wave continued in some parts of Rajasthan where Churu was recorded as the hottest place registering a maximum of 45 degrees Celsius.

The heat wave in most places of Jharkhand continued with temperatures hovering above 40 degrees Celsius in several districts today. After experiencing the season’s blazing heat at 48 degrees Celsius yesterday, mercury dropped by three degrees in the steel city of Bokaro, remaining at 45 degree Celsius.
